The Decision!
July 2012 brought Evan and Million Dollar baby to a horse show in East Dorset, Vermont. It was an amazing venue with beautiful rings, fantastic jumps, great stabling and lots of tack shoppes and boutiques to browse everyday. One afternoon we dropped into 'Mona's Monograming" to find a litter of eight English Cream Retrievers and Mom and Dad, Paris and Dutch in the monogramming trailer.
Love at first sight!
Of course, then Evan started a FaceBook "blackmail" group to convince bruce and I that there should be a puppy addition to the Phinney family. The neat thing, is that we had been looking at this breed for almost a year via a kennel in Arkansas. But, ... the time was never right and it was slightly complicated regarding picking a puppy up in Arkansas. Turns out the mother of the litter in Vermont was from the Arkansas "Wisteria" kennel! And the Dad, Dutch, is from a kennel in Holland! With our riding team manager (who is very knowledgable with both horses and dogs) asking all the right questions for me, by the end of the two week horse show and Evan's successful FaceBook campaign we put a deposit down on our new puppy!
